Review: NY International Auto Show (with Pics)

My new job is coming right along. I’m still in training until Wednesday and then I’m on my own! With my new schedule I’m going to be working on Saturdays so I may have to rearrange some things in order to get out to see my festivals and such.

I was all set to go to the TX Earth Day celebration at Fair Park this past weekend, but I couldn’t make it. My allergies wouldn’t allow it. I spent the whole day in bed suffering!

But Marvin did get to go to the New York International Auto Show with his kids! Looks like a great time was had by all. I believe the next events I’m gearing up for is the City Arts Festival and the Joyce Meyer Conference; both in May. My work schedule is going to make it really difficult, but God knows.

Last but not least, let me share a few photos with you from Marvin’s day out at the NY International Auto Show!

Working Things Out and Moving Things Around

Okay Lord. Is this how it feels when you are working things out and moving things around?

These last 2 weeks have been sort of trying for my son and I. We’ve had a few issues going on at home and both of us have been looking for work. I currently work at Lane Bryant as a sales associate, but I really need a sit down job. My service-connected disability won’t allow me to continue doing retail for the long haul. My background and experience is in customer service, so I’m waiting to hear back from one place in particular. They say I am cleared for hire, but they just have to set up the Orientation date. I’m excited about it! More money and I’m back in the call center.

Mel put in an application at a Subway that just opened near us and we are waiting to hear back from them. He’s excited about getting his first job and his first pay check!! We’re still waiting for his ID card to arrive in the mail!

Marvin and I still haven’t been able to make plans to see each other, due to low funds. I miss him so much and I can’t wait to kiss that smiling face of his!

Lord, you know all and I’m just trying to take everything day by day. Help me to trust your timing and stand in my faith! Thank you for all of the changes I see in my life. You are good and I love you so much!

Deep Ellum Arts Festival 2014: Review with pics!

Every year I plan to go to the Deep Ellum Arts Festival and I normally get there, but this year it didn’t look like it was going to happen. Thankfully a friend of mine made it possible for me to go and we had a wonderful time!

When we first got there, we entered off of Good Latimer and we weren’t alone. Tons of people rode the Green Line to the Deep Ellum Station for the festival. The day was very cloudy and even a little chilly, so I thought the crowd wouldn’t be as full as past years, but I was wrong!

People were out in the masses enjoying the festival even though it was drizzling and cold! My main reason for going is to get to check out the latest by David Pound at Twentyheads! What a talent!! I got to show my friend Bruce what Twentyheads is all about and he was amazed! I wanted to say hello to David, but his booth was full of clients buying and I wasn’t about to interrupt THAT! Go DAVID!!

Every time I go to an Arts Festival, I always leave feeling like I should be doing more. So much talent and hard work! I am always amazed at the art and I wish I could produce something just as beautiful! I guess everyone can’t be a great artist, but I bet it’s fun trying!!

I also got the chance to meet Sharon Spillar of Spillar Studios! I follow her artwork on FB and I get to see her at all of the major Dallas festivals! I introduced myself and shook her hand. Hi Sharon!!

Some other artists I dropped in on were:

Jean-Claude Louis

Elizabeth Dunlop
